In Gynecological problems like Dysmenorrhea, Amenorrhea, Infertility Erandbhrist Haritaki gives very good results. Bleeding in injury apply Haritaki powder or Turmeric powder stop bleeding . In Vatik Kas (Dry caughing ) put Haritaki in mouth and swallow it's Ras it's also beneficial.In Shirsh shool(Headache) give Haritaki in early morning with warm water. Agtsya haritaki avleh works in Bronchitis,T.B., caughing. In children give Bal Haritaki With honey It's Mateubhaishaj .

Dr. Bhavesh Modh: Hartaki Use in Gastric Ulcers as well as Acidity... ( not अम्लपित्त ) The gastro protective mechanism of chebulinic acid isolated from *Terminalia chebula fruit* was investigated. Chebulinic acid was evaluated against cold restraint, CRU aspirin , AS alcohol,AL and pyloric ligation, PL induced *gastric* *ulcer models in rats.* Potential anti-ulcer activity of chebulinic acid was observed against CRU (62.9%), AS (55.3%), AL (80.67%) and PL (66.63%) induced ulcer models. The reference drug *omeprazole* (10 mg/kg, p.o.) showed 77.73% protection against CRU, 58.30% against AS and 70.80% against PL model. *Sucralfate* , another reference drug (500 mg/kg, p.o.) showed 65.67% protection in AL induced ulcer model. *Chebulinic acid significantly reduced free acidity* (48.82%), total acidity (38.29%) and upregulated mucin secretion by 59.75% respectively. Further, chebulinic acid significantly inhibited H(+) K(+)-ATPase activity in vitro with IC50 of 65.01 μg/ml as compared to the IC50 value of omeprazole (30.24 μg/ml) confirming its anti-secretory activity.

Haritaki as a Rasayana Due to its chemical composition of chebulinic acid... The plant has adrenergic function and helps to recover from stress. Onecompound chebulagic acid from Haritaki has shown antispasmodic action like papaverine. The plant used is used as an antidote against bites of snakes. Regular use of Haritaki improves memory due to beneficial effects on the nerves of brain.

Dr. Pritam Veer: Haritaki or Abhaya drug of choice for constipation. Given with warm water at bed time gives good results. Abhayarishta made up of abhaya uses in treatment of Piles. Can be given with warm water. Bal Hirda or Haritaki as it's name can be given in Bala or paediatric patients. Other firm Survari Hirda , my sir used to give to pt who have habit of tobacco chewing. I haven't tasted but sir says it's taste is like tobacco. Can be given to chronic tobacco chewers. If anyone has information about Survari Hirda plz share. I hv this much information. Also Haritaki works well in the cases of Udan and Apan Vikruti. Because of Udan vikruti , there can be Kaas , shwas like diseases. But Haritaki does Vaat anuloman so can be given to such vaatat Kaas , shwas cases.

Dr. Navneeth Krishnan: There are few abayarista yoga in classics sir, in some amalaki is more and I'm some abhaya is more. The one I make has more abhaya and it's from Sahasrayogam. And based on the ingredients the indications Also changes. In Sahasrayogam itself two yogas of abhayarista mentioned with different indication and ingredients
Gary Yuen: There is a study showing 3 grams of amalaki powder works about as well as one diabetic medicine. There are other studies showing a vegetarian diet can cure diabetes (cause is excess muscle fat). Haritaki studies I think have been done only in rats.

The powder of Haritaki fruit is made into paste with equal amount of jaggery. This is administered before food to reduce pain, itching and size of hemorrhoids. Haritaki along with buttermilk is administered for piles. (Charaka Chikitsa Sthana 14th chapter).

Gary Yuen: Is anyone using it for cancer? It's supposed to be the main herb according to some doctors. As far as antioxidants, triphala is about 3x of amalaki meaning one of the 3 fruits is much higher. I think it is haritaki.
